Nagaland state level students’ science exhibition held

[2019.11.07, Thu 16:03] Several students from 9 districts of the state today competed at the state level students' science exhibition 2019 on "Science & technology for sustainable development" here at Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima, organized by Directorate of School Education, Nagaland, Kohima. Under individual category, Lemei H. Lakpan from Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima bagged the first position while Mechi Imchen from Queen Mary HSS, Mokokchung stood second position. In group category, Subeno Murry and Chumreno Erui from Don Bosco HSS, Wokha declared as first position while Lansingliu Gonmei and Kwazeu Meru from All Saints HSS, Peren stood second position. The winners will represent the state at the Eastern India Science Fair, Kolkata, scheduled for January 14- 18, 2020. Earlier, gracing the introductory function, Nagaland's school education director Wongthungo Tsopoe lamented that students are not exceeding well in mathematics and science and felt that proper learning should take place in the elementary level. Limadangit Jamir, Deputy Director, Directorate of School Education said that there are limited amount of resources on earth which are exploited everyday by us. Also speaking on the occasion, Limawapang Aier, Additional Director, School Education stressed on the need to adopt the latest technology to help increase agriculture produces in the state.
